Overview of the Software Repository Viewer Interface (0.6.1)

The primary user interface for FOSSology is the web based Software Repository Viewer that is provided with the default install. This interface provides a generic way to browse the file repository and view the results produced by the included agents

NOTE: Other user interfaces are available but not documented here. See also Using Fossology from the Command Line.

The Software Repository Viewer user interface consists of an initial browser window which is divided into two main areas:

  • The area on the left side of the browser window contains:
    • Software Repository directory - A listing of the contents of the software repository which you can navigate to view the repository contents. The directory is in the form of folders which can be opened by clicking. When an item in this list is selected, the right side of the browser window displays its contents.
    • Show Jobs - Click this link to obtain a graphical display that lists the state of current jobs in the Software Repository. When Show jobs is selected, the right side of the browser window displays its contents.
  • The area on the right side of the browser window contains:
    • A series of horizontal Tabs (across the top) for navigating Software Respository functions.
    • An information bar under the horizontal Tabs that briefly describes Repository Directory selections.
    • An area that displays the contents of the selection made in the left-side Repository Directory listing.

The following screen shows the main window of the Software Repository Viewer user interface described above.
