Below are the steps that were used to installe the PHPUnit testing framework.

PHPUnit is best installed with the pear utility. Pear usually gets installed when php is installed. If pear is not on the system install it with:
sudo apt-get install php-pear

Pear is placed in a system directory so installing packages requires sudo.

This list represents what we would like to do for v 1.3. We will be working on v 2.0 at the same time as 1.3. Our goal is to get all the high priority items done and probably all the “easy” items. The low priorities will get done if we have time (we are switching to time based releases). It's possible that we will get to none of the low priority items in 1.3. Whatever we don't do will become high priority in 1.4

This is a brief discussion of how to plan and create test cases.

Creating Test Plans and Test Cases

Before you can write a test, it's a good idea to have a test case in mind that needs testing. Everyone on this team already does this when they test informally, they just might not think of it that way. For example, I'm going to run X, and I expect Y from the data that it will process. That's a test case. Of course test cases can get much more complex than that.
